About Children’s Tiatr Competition
The Tiatr Academy, working under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa, launched the “Children’s Tiatr Competition” to foster Tiatr by giving children aged up to 16 years a stage for traditional Konkani theatre, in response to the rising interest among students and others in involving children in Tiatr. Participating groups receive financial support, and mementos and certificates are awarded in several categories, including best performance, individual artistes, direction, technical work and music. Every child performer must be 16 years or younger on the application date, and the themes must be based only on children’s lives. Tiatr Academy of Goa implements the scheme, and applications are taken offline on the prescribed forms.

How to Apply
Offline Application
Applicants can apply for Children's Tiatr Competition through the offline application process outlined below.

Applications are taken on a "First come First Serve" basis, depending on the funds available. An applicant who pulls out after Tiatr Academy of Goa has drawn up the schedule loses the entire security deposit. 15 Educational Institutions, Sports and Cultural Associations or Individual Producers will get the chance to take part. If Tiatr Academy of Goa gets more than 15 applications, all applicants will be called to a meeting where the other 12 troupes will be picked by lots. If any of the 15 participants drops out, the troupe at the top of the waiting list takes the vacant place. Post-Application Processes

Await Script Scrutiny Feedback Tiatr Academy of Goa reviews the submitted script to check that it relates to children's lives and that the kantaram are interactive, and sends any feedback to the applicant within 10 days. The Academy may suggest improvements or reject the script outright if it is not about children's lives.
