Ashirwad
About Ashirwad
Many families from the economically weaker sections cannot afford to arrange their daughters’ weddings because of their fragile finances, and they struggle with numerous related problems. With this reality in view, the Punjab government has brought in the Punjab Ashirwad plan. Under it, girls from financially disadvantaged backgrounds receive monetary help, so their families need not be burdened by the costs of arranging the daughter’s wedding. Beyond helping the girls themselves, the scheme also seeks to support families who are bringing up daughters and wish to see them married.
