Top Class Education For Scheduled Caste Students
About Top Class Education For Scheduled Caste Students
The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, runs “Top Class Education for Scheduled Caste Students” to recognise and encourage quality education among Scheduled Caste students by funding studies beyond Class 12. It provides scholarship assistance covering tuition fees, non-refundable charges, and an academic allowance to eligible SC students admitted to notified institutions of excellence across the country. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment implements the scheme through the National Scholarship Portal, awarding 1,900 fresh scholarships annually on merit, with 30% of slots reserved for eligible SC girl students. The scholarship covers the full duration of the approved course, subject to satisfactory academic progress and meeting the scheme’s conditions, and aims to remove financial barriers so SC community students can access quality higher education.
