About Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-yojana (PM-MKSSY): COMPONENT 1B: One-Time Incentive for the Adoption of Aquaculture Insurance
Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana is a Central Sector Sub-scheme sitting within the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), administered by the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India. It works to formalise the fisheries sector and encourage fisheries-based microenterprises and entrepreneurs to tap into institutional finance. Under Component 1B, applicants who have already taken institutional credit for fisheries-related activities receive a one-time incentive. The aim is to encourage the take-up of formal credit and support fisheries microenterprises’ ability to repay it. To qualify, the applicant must be registered on the National Fisheries Digital Platform (NFDP) and must have obtained credit through a recognised financial institution. The Department of Fisheries implements the scheme through the NFDP, and applications are submitted online.
