About LLB Internship Programme
The Department of Justice (DoJ), under the Ministry of Law and Justice, runs an “LLB Internship Programme” for young law students. It is meant to familiarise them with how the Department functions by exposing them to research and referencing work across specialised areas of justice delivery, including:-
1. Access to Justice (Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu, Legal Aid, Pro Bono Legal Services); 1. e-Courts services; 1. Fast Track Special Courts; 1. National Mission for Justice Delivery & Legal Reforms and; 1. CSS for Development of Infrastructure Facilities in the District and Subordinate Judiciary.
Duration:
The internship typically runs for one month (four weeks). > Number of Interns:
Each monthly slot is capped at 10 interns, depending on the Department’s requirements. > Placement:
Selected interns are attached, with the Competent Authority’s approval, to an officer at the level of Deputy Secretary/Director/Joint Secretary, or to the offices of the Secretary (Department of Justice) or the Minister of State for Law & Justice (Independent Charge). > Attendance:
Satisfactory completion requires, among other things, 90% attendance; this is a full-time internship attended in person.
