About Khelo India Scheme: Fit India Movement
The “Fit India Movement” is a component of the “Khelo India Scheme” run by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, promoting physical fitness and healthy living through fitness assessments, school certification, and awareness campaigns. It encourages voluntary participation in at least 30 minutes of daily physical activity, focusing on building a fitness culture among school children and the wider public. The Fit India Mission Cell runs this component with support from educational institutions, schools, and sports organizations, and eligible stakeholders may get financial assistance for approved activities.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for Khelo India Scheme: Fit India Movement, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
For Physical Assessment of School Going Children:
Eligible Schools:
Any school taking part in Fit India Movement activities can participate, whether it is a Central Government school, a State Government school, a Union Territory Government school, a private aided school or a private unaided school. For Fit India School Certification:
Eligible Institutions:
The school has to fulfil the prescribed Fit India School Certification parameters.
Recommendation Requirement:
A recommendation must be secured from the designated district-level committee.
Compliance Requirement:
The school has to meet the infrastructure and fitness-related requirements that the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has approved.
Application Requirement
Application Requirement: Certification claims have to be filed through the Fit India online portal. For Grants for Events and Campaigns:
Eligible Schools:
Schools that hold Fit India events or campaigns qualify.
Eligible Government Organizations:
Fit India activities organised by Central Government organizations, State Government organizations, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and Paramilitary forces are covered.
Eligible Sports Bodies:
National Sports Federations (NSFs) may apply.
Proposal Requirement:
The proposal submitted must be complete and technically feasible.
Implementation Requirement:
The organisation has to stick to the implementation timelines that were approved.
