Jute Raw Material Bank Scheme

Quick Summary: The Jute Raw Material Bank Scheme sets up local supply hubs run by experienced agencies to give jute artisans and small manufacturers raw jute below mill-gate prices. It covers 30% of sales value (up to ₹12 lakh/year per JRMB), plus a freight subsidy for hilly and high-transport-cost regions.

About Jute Raw Material Bank Scheme

The Jute Raw Material Bank (JRMB) Scheme sets up banks in local jute clusters nationwide, in partnership with bonafide agencies experienced in similar work and equipped with the necessary storage, display, and selling infrastructure. JRMBs source raw materials directly from Jute Mills and manufacturers at economical rates, creating backward linkages that supply jute raw material locally to Jute Artisans, WSHGs, JDP Micro & Small Units, and JRCPC beneficiaries for manufacturing JDPs. The JRMB’s objectives are:

  • Setting up JRMBs in jute-producing clusters to ensure smooth, uninterrupted supply and sale of jute raw materials to JRCPC beneficiaries, WSHGs, Jute Artisans, and Micro/Small Jute manufacturers, below mill-gate prices, to keep their JDPs cost-competitive.
  • Supplying finer-count yarn, 100% Jute/Union/Blended fabrics, laminated fabric, Technical Textiles, and other braided and decorative yarns for diversified applications and value addition of Jute.
  • Making jute raw materials available in the right quantity and quality to JRCPC beneficiaries, WSHGs, and Micro/Small Jute manufacturers for making Jute Diversified Products.
