About Electronic Manufacturing Clusters (EMC) Scheme: Common Facility Centres/ Brownfield Electronics Manufacturing Clusters

The “Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC) Scheme” was launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, with two components — Greenfield Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMCs) and Common Facility Centres/Brownfield Electronics Manufacturing Clusters. Upgrading Brownfield clusters aims to provide shared technical facilities to electronics manufacturing companies located in and around a region, cutting production lead time and cost (including transport and logistics), and boosting exports and revenue. The Department of Electronics and Information Technology implements the scheme through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) set up for each cluster.
